BABIES ARE BEAUTIFUL

CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to Mark and Lee Summers on the birth of their son Thomas James who was born in 2004.

Thomas is the grandson of Neil and Christine Strickland (nee Hart). Thomas is a descendant from Maria Collits/Strickland/Field.

CONGRATULATIONS

To Fay and Ronald Field who celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 2004. They celebrated with a special dinner out with their family.

Ronald met Fay Watson at the home of a friend in South Yarra, it was love at first sight, they were engaged a week later. Ronald had to return to Sydney but after only two weeks returned to Melbourne.

They were married the next day at All Saints Church of England in St. Kilda in Victoria.

A month later Ronald sailed for Korea as he was in the Navy.

SO YOU THINK YOU'VE GOT TROUBLE

Poor old Farmer Brown has had a hard life. This is his tale of woe.

"It all started back in 1966, when they changed to decimal currency, and me over-draft was doubled. I was just getting used to this when they brought in kilograms instead of pounds, and me wool clip dropped by half. Then they changed the rain to millimetres and we haven't had an inch of rain since. So what do they do? They bring in a thing called Celsius and it never gets hotter than 40 degrees in mid-summer no wonder me wheat won't grow."

"As if it wasn't enough, they had to change from acres to hectares and I ended up with half the land I had. I bought a small car to beat the fuel crisis, but they changed from gallons to litres and I'm using four times as much fuel as before."

"So one day I sat down and had a think. I reckoned that with daylight saving, I was working seven extra hours a week for nothing.

I decided to sell out. To cap it all off, just as I put the place in the Agent's hands, they changed from miles to kilometres and now I find I'm to far out of town for anybody to buy the bloomin' place."

I can't win......

A SPECIAL POEM FOR SENIOR CITIZENS

A row of bottles on my shelf
Caused me to analyse myself.
One yellow pill I have to pop
Goes to my heart so it won't stop.
A little white one that I take
Goes to my hands so they won't shake.
The blue one that I use a lot
Tell me I'm happy when I'm not.
The purple pill goes to my brain
And tell me that I have no pain.
The capsules tell me not to wheeze
Or cough or choke or even sneeze.
The red ones, smallest of them all
Go to my blood so I won't fall.
The orange ones, very big and bright
Prevent my leg cramps in the night.
Such an array of brilliant pills
Helping to cure all my ills.
But what I'd really like to know...
Is what tells each one where to go?

There's always a lot to be thankful for if you take time to look at it.
For example I am sitting here thinking how nice it is that wrinkles don't hurt...

William was the first child born AFTER Edward married Elizabeth, according to this William was the legitimate Heir because of this.

In the last newsletter there was an article regarding the address of Hawkesbury Settlers to Bligh. This address was dated 29th January 1807, among the signatories was a William Field. Our William Field would only have been one year old. Therefore this William Field must have been the one that came out on the 1st Fleet and as far as we know is not related.
